In 2010 I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, hypermobility type. Most of you already know what that is, which is why you're here. For the rest of you, EDS is a connective tissue disorder that, among other things, causes loose, hyperextended joints, especially the joints of the fingers and thumbs. Splinting or bracing these joints is helpful for everyday function. It greatly limits pain, discomfort, and further damage. I started my custom ring splint company in 2011 to help others like me splint with fashion.
An update in 2018
Though I have tried yet again to keep the business going, I am no longer able to craft the more intricate splints due to EDS and secondary conditions, the most debilitating being my severe migraines which last for days at a time and hit a few times a month.
RingSplints.com was previously know as EDS Ring Splints, LLC. Due to ever demanding interest in ring splints from a variety of medical conditions, we have decided to drop the "EDS" in order to clarify that we offer more than splinting for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.
